Is it a (at leat remote) possibility to have Intel Graphics Card 915GM supported? You probably know that there is no official WDDM driver for these cards, but maybe you could write/hack one? I own a HP Pavilion dv4040us and I could install Windows 8.1 in it. It runs pretty well, but the default generic video driver renders everything using the CPU (not the GPU), so that makes it slower than with Windows 7 (with XPDM driver). Well, I am looking forward from hearing any hope from you. Thank you very much, GABRIEL. Sorry, but you are likely out of luck, but If I may suggest, see if you can find Vista Drivers, they have a tendancy to work.

And many (who do not own this kind of graphics card) infer that (as the majority of drivers that work under Windows 7 do work under Windows 8) the driver should work.but it doesn't. It is necessary to develop (or hack/modify) a WDDM driver for this card (which is/was very common in notebooks). I do have knowledge to modify files, find out hardware ID's or anything else you might need to make tests.and I am of course willing to help in any way. Please, please, take this as 'a challenge' or a 'good for the community'!;-) I know you can!

The secondary one is left as an unknown display device (with yellow exclamation mark) that is in charge of showing in the external screen (if attached, through the VGA port). Windows detected the driver and tried to install it. Something strange happened: the device in Device Manager changed the name from 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter' to 'Mobile Intel® 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family', but with a yellow exclamation mark and the legend 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. The weird thing is that a ballon on the tray bar kept on appearing every 30 seconds more or less, saying 'force the installation of display driver' (or something like that, I have translated from Spanish), and screen going black and returning, until I unistalled the driver. In device properties (before I uninstall it) it could be read: Driver provider: Intel Corporation Driver date: Driver version: 8.

Digital Signer: Karl Sabo Again, perhaps in English Windows it says something slightly different, I have just translated from Spanish. To be an alpha 1 version, I think it is a promising start, don't you think? Let's try as many times as necessary.

It completed successfuly, but the display adapter in Device manager shows a yellow mark with error 43. And screen flashes and the balloon informing 'force the reinstallation of graphics drivers' appear every 20 seconds, more or less. Secondary display adapter didn't change its name, and it is still listed under 'other devices' category. Aero is active before the driver installation and also afterwards (in between flashes), but take into account that even with Microsoft Basic Display Adapter Aero IS enabled (unlike under Windows Vista/7). Nevertheless, experience is much less than satisfactory, as render is done by CPU rather than GPU, so it is slow. Let's keep on trying.at least it is a step forward.
